No, we welcome players of all levels of experience and they will learn the game from coaches and staff.

We do our best to accommodate player placement requests whenever possible while also maintaining balanced team rosters for a fun and competitive experience for everyone.

If your child would like to be placed with specific friends, the best way to help make that happen is by volunteering as a coach. 

Coaches are able to form their own rosters, which provides the greatest flexibility in keeping groups of friends together.

Practice schedules vary by age group. Our older divisions typically practice twice per week, while our younger divisions generally practice once per week. Some coaches in the younger age groups may choose to hold an additional practice depending on field availability, coach availability, and team interest.

Registration fees cover league administration, scheduling, officials (if applicable), and field usage. Uniforms, and equipmenmt.

Teams are chosen and announced within two week of registration closing. During the registration process, returning players can elect not to return to their previous team. Otherwise, returning players will stay with their previous team.  

Practices begin during the first week of May and are held at fields throughout the Wauwatosa community. Most teams practice on either Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday, with occasional Friday practices scheduled when needed.

Practice schedules are influenced by several factors, including the number of teams, field availability, and coach availability. Whenever possible, teams will practice at the same field where they play their games to provide consistency and familiarity for players and families.

Practice days are also determined by each coach's preference and availability, so schedules may vary from team to team.

The league uses a number of fields throughout Wauwatosa including city and county parks, Wisconsin Avenue Park, Brietlow Fields, Longfellow, Underwood, Whitman Schools and Cooper Park. 

Generally, our league calendar is published on the web site and all families receive game schedules in the middle of May. 

Games begin during the first week of June. Typically teams will play 2 times per week at various fields. 

Games played during the week begin at 6:00 p.m. Typically once games start practices end - there maybe additional practices it is coaches discretion.  

Refund policies are outlined during registration. In general, refunds may be available before the season begins, minus any administrative or processing fees.

We welcome all players from the surrounding communities to play in the league. 

Our Tosa Fastpitch league partners with Greendale to provide a fun and rewarding experience for all players. Both communities share the same commitment to player development, sportsmanship, and creating a positive environment for young athletes.

Teams will enjoy a mix of home and away games, playing on fields in both Wauwatosa and Greendale throughout the season. This partnership provides a great balance of competition, variety, and opportunities for players to build friendships while enjoying the game.

The only equipment players need is a glove, baseball pants, and athletic shoes. Plastic cleats are recommended, but soccer cleats work perfectly well too. We recommend white baseball pants, as they are the most commonly used throughout the league.

Players are welcome to bring their own bat if they have one, but it is not required. League equipment will be available for all players to use.

This keeps the game accessible and ensures every player has what they need to learn, develop, and have fun on the field.

Players will need to provide their own glove and batting helmet. For player safety, all helmets must include a face mask.

Cleats are highly recommended, but soccer cleats work great and are a perfect option if your player already has a pair. Players will also need to purchase black softball pants for games.

The league will provide team jerseys, socks, face masks, bats, and catcher’s equipment, so players will have everything else they need to enjoy a fun and successful season.

Our programs rely on volunteer coaches and helpers. If you’re interested in volunteering, you can indicate your interest during registration or contact us directly.

• Juniors: 7 and 8 years old, 1st & 2nd grade 
• Minors: 9 and 10 years old, 3rd & 4th grade
• Majors: 11 and 12 years old, 5th & 6th grade
• Seniors: 13, and  14 years old, 7th & 8th

We understand that families today have many activities competing for their time. Tosa Baseball and Fastpitch are team-oriented programs that rely on the commitment and participation of players and families to create a positive experience for everyone.

Before registering, please consider the time commitment that practices and games require. We encourage players to attend team activities whenever possible, while also recognizing that summer is a time for vacations, family events, and other activities.

Our goal is to provide a fun, inclusive environment where every player has the opportunity to learn and grow. Players will not be penalized for missing practices, and league rules are designed to ensure that all players receive meaningful playing time and the opportunity to experience a variety of positions throughout the season.

The volunteer fee collected during registration is charged once per family and helps encourage the volunteer support that makes our league possible. Families can earn a full refund of this fee by volunteering in a variety of roles, including head coach, assistant coach, team manager, and other league support positions.

We also offer volunteer credit for participating in the Wauwatosa Fourth of July Parade, where families can walk with Tosa Baseball and Fastpitch while representing our organization in the community.

Volunteer fee refunds are processed at the conclusion of the season for families who have fulfilled their volunteer commitment. We greatly appreciate the time and effort our volunteers contribute, as they play a vital role in creating a positive experience for all of our players.

We do not play games on Holidays.
